Summary
This study examined the types of bacteria living on the skin of 100 patients scheduled for a heart valve replacement procedure called TAVI. The goal was to find out which bacteria are most common in the groin area, where the procedure is done, to help doctors choose the best antibiotics to prevent infections. The study did not test any new treatments, but gathered important information to improve safety.
