Scientists probe new Drug's attack on autoimmune dryness

NCT ID NCT05124925

Summary

This study aimed to understand how the experimental drug ianalumab works in people with Sjögren's syndrome, an autoimmune disease that causes severe dryness. Researchers gave the drug to 21 patients and took small saliva gland samples to see how it affected immune cells. The main goal was to learn how the drug behaves in the body and whether it's safe, not to prove it relieves symptoms.
