First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study will test whether a 16-week program of sitting light volleyball (a modified sport) can improve physical fitness and mental well-being in 225 adults with physical disabilities. Participants will be split into three groups: volleyball, seated dance, or a control group. The goal is to see if this fun, adapted activity can be a practical way to boost health and quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Sitting Light Volleyball (a modified sport) and Group Seated Dance
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a fun, accessible way for people with physical disabilities to improve fitness and quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage study (225 participants) comparing two activities, so results may not apply to everyone. The intervention is behavioral, so benefits depend on consistent participation.
