New hope for thyroid eye disease: gentler treatment challenge to steroids

NCT ID NCT04936854

Summary

This study is testing if a drug called sirolimus is a better and safer option than standard steroid treatment for people with active thyroid eye disease. It will involve 60 adults with moderate-to-severe symptoms that started within the last 9 months. Researchers will compare how well each treatment reduces eye inflammation and swelling, and track which causes fewer side effects like weight gain or high blood pressure.
