Sinus surgery showdown: crush vs. cut for better breathing

NCT ID NCT06687629

Summary

This study compared two surgical techniques for treating concha bullosa, a condition where the middle nasal turbinate is enlarged with air. Researchers followed 62 patients with chronic sinusitis who underwent sinus surgery, randomly assigning them to either have the enlarged tissue crushed or partially removed. The goal was to determine which method provides better long-term symptom relief with fewer complications like scar tissue formation.
