New balloon treatment aims to keep sinuses open after surgery

NCT ID NCT07290140

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a special balloon coated with a drug (paclitaxel) during sinus surgery helps patients with chronic sinusitis. The balloon is inflated in the sinuses after surgery, aiming to reduce scarring and the need for future procedures. Researchers will compare 300 adults who get the balloon treatment to those who get standard surgery alone.
