Scientists analyze bone regrowth in jaw for better dental implants

NCT ID NCT07186166

Summary

This study aimed to understand how well bone grows after a sinus grafting procedure needed for dental implants in people with severe bone loss in their upper jaw. Researchers performed the grafting surgery on 60 patients using a special bone substitute material mixed with the patient's own blood components. After six months of healing, they took small bone samples to measure how much new bone had formed versus how much of the original graft material remained.
