Gentle One-Arm workouts aim to ease breathing crisis
NCT ID NCT07348003
Summary
This study is testing a special type of exercise for people with COPD (a serious lung disease) when their symptoms suddenly get much worse, known as a flare-up or exacerbation. Researchers want to see if doing resistance exercises with just one arm or leg at a time is easier for patients to tolerate and helps them maintain muscle strength, reduce breathlessness, and feel less fatigued and anxious compared to not doing these exercises. The goal is to find a safe and practical way to help patients stay more active and recover better during these difficult periods.
