Simulated stoma training boosts patient confidence, study finds

Summary

This study looks at whether using a simulation model to practice stoma care helps patients learn better than standard teaching alone. About 70 adults with a new stoma will either get usual education or extra simulation practice. The goal is to see if simulation reduces anxiety and improves self-care skills and confidence.
