Kidney stone surgery gets a streamlined makeover

NCT ID NCT06750913

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at a common surgery for large kidney stones (over 2 cm). Normally, doctors place a tube from the bladder into the kidney before starting the main surgery. This study tested if skipping that step makes the procedure faster and just as safe. 140 adults were involved. The goal was to see if the simpler approach could reduce surgery time without increasing risks.
