New artificial disc matches standard surgery for neck pain relief

Summary

This study tested a new artificial disc, called Simplify®, for people with cervical degenerative disc disease causing arm pain or nerve problems. 150 adults received either the new disc or standard fusion surgery. The goal was to see if the new disc was as safe and effective at reducing pain and improving function over 24 months.
