First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tested a new artificial disc (Simplify® Disc) for people with two damaged discs in the neck causing arm pain, numbness, or weakness. The goal was to see if the disc is as safe and effective as standard fusion surgery. 182 participants received the disc or fusion, and success was measured by pain relief, nerve function, and avoiding further surgery over 24 months.
