Silver-Coated hip implants battle dangerous infections in revision surgery

NCT ID NCT06737809

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a silver-based antimicrobial coating to hip replacement implants can help prevent infections in patients who need revision surgery due to an existing joint infection. Participants will receive either standard implants or the new coated implants, and researchers will monitor them for 12 months to see if infections occur. The goal is to reduce the risk of repeat surgeries caused by infections, which are a major complication in hip revision procedures.
