First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study checked the safety and performance of a silver alginate dressing for chronic and acute wounds. 56 adults with pressure ulcers or donor site wounds that were infected or at high risk of infection took part. Over 6 weeks, the dressing helped wounds heal by increasing granulation tissue, reducing wound size, and lowering pain and odor. The dressing was found to be safe with few side effects.
