Silent ICU test aims to calm patients and ease nurse burnout

NCT ID NCT07364097

Summary

This study is testing whether turning off the constant beeping and alarms in hospital intensive care units can help patients and staff. For four weeks, specific units will use a silent alarm system, while other weeks will use normal alarms. Researchers will measure if this reduces patient confusion (delirium), lowers noise levels, and decreases stress and fatigue among nurses and doctors.
