Breakthrough trial offers safer cure for kids with sickle cell

Summary
This study is testing a new, less toxic bone marrow transplant procedure for children with severe sickle cell disease. The goal is to cure the disease using a gentler treatment that causes fewer serious side effects, like graft-versus-host disease, compared to standard transplants. Researchers will follow 100 children to see if this approach maintains a high cure rate while improving their quality of life.
