Summary
This early-stage study is testing if a drug called motixafortide is safe for adults with severe sickle cell disease. Researchers want to see if the drug helps the body release more stem cells into the bloodstream so they can be collected. These collected cells could potentially be used in future treatments, like gene therapy, to help control the disease.
