New drug aims to slash debilitating pain crises for sickle cell patients
NCT ID NCT06439082
Summary
This study is testing whether an investigational drug called crizanlizumab can reduce the frequency of painful vaso-occlusive crises in people with sickle cell disease. It will involve about 315 adolescents and adults who experience frequent pain crises, comparing the drug against a placebo. Participants can continue their standard hydroxyurea therapy, and the study will track how many crises require medical care over a year.
