Drug trial aims to protect Kids' brains from sickle cell damage
NCT ID NCT04218084
Summary
This study tested whether a medication called voxelotor could help protect children with sickle cell disease from strokes. It involved about 224 children, aged 2 to 15, who were at risk for stroke due to abnormal blood flow in their brains. Researchers compared the drug to a placebo to see if it could improve blood flow measurements and reduce the risk of stroke over time.
