Massive 10,000-Person study aims to unlock secrets of sickle cell disease across a lifetime

NCT ID NCT02098863

Summary

This study aims to understand how sickle cell disease affects people's health over their entire lifetime, from childhood into adulthood. Researchers will follow 10,000 participants, collecting health data during their regular doctor visits to see how the disease progresses and how treatments like hydroxyurea work long-term. The goal is to identify risks for organ damage and improve future care by building a detailed picture of the disease.
