Tracking the Body's recovery after sickle cell cures

NCT ID NCT05213572

Summary

This study aims to understand how organs like the heart, brain, kidneys, and lungs recover in adults with sickle cell disease after they receive treatments intended to cure the condition. Researchers will compare 200 participants—some receiving curative therapies and others continuing standard care—using detailed scans, blood tests, and memory games over two years. The goal is to learn exactly how curative treatments benefit the body's major organs long-term.
