Scientists track special blood cells in sickle cell patients
NCT ID NCT07155031
Summary
This study aims to understand how long specially treated, pathogen-reduced red blood cells last in the body of adults with sickle cell disease. It will follow five patients who regularly receive blood exchange therapy, tracking the treated cells with special markers. The goal is to gather data on the safety and lifespan of these processed blood cells, not to provide a new treatment.
