First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested two different nerve blocks to see which one works better for pain after shoulder surgery. Sixty adults having arthroscopic shoulder surgery received either an interscalene block or a serratus posterior superior intercostal plane block. The main goal was to see how much pain medicine they needed in the first 24 hours, and the study also looked at pain scores and effects on breathing.
