Shoulder surgery study probes how nerve blocks affect your brain's oxygen
NCT ID NCT07398352
Summary
This study aims to understand how two different nerve-block techniques affect brain oxygen levels and carotid artery width during shoulder surgery. Researchers will compare using one nerve block alone versus using two nerve blocks together in 70 adult patients. They will use non-invasive monitors to measure brain oxygen and ultrasound to check artery size, while also tracking pain and medication use after surgery.
