New shoulder spacer tested to stop Re-Tears after surgery

NCT ID NCT04704700

Summary

This study compared two surgical methods for repairing a torn rotator cuff in the shoulder. It tested whether adding a small, dissolvable spacer device called 'InSpace' during surgery leads to fewer re-tears one year later compared to standard repair without the spacer. Researchers measured re-tear rates, shoulder pain, mobility, and quality of life in 30 patients in France.
