New exercises aim to retrain shoulder 'GPS' after mastectomy
NCT ID NCT07316283
Summary
This study tested whether adding special sensorimotor exercises to standard physical therapy could improve shoulder joint position sense in women after mastectomy. Forty-six women who had shoulder problems after breast cancer surgery were randomly assigned to receive either the standard therapy alone or the standard therapy plus the new exercises for eight weeks. Researchers measured how accurately women could sense their shoulder position to see if the extra training helped.
