Zap for the shoulder: can a needle and electricity fix CrossFit pain?
NCT ID NCT06958276
Summary
This study tested whether a technique called ultrasound-guided percutaneous neuromodulation could help CrossFit athletes with long-term, unexplained shoulder pain. Forty-two athletes with pain lasting over three months were randomly assigned to receive different versions of this treatment, which uses a thin needle and mild electrical current near a nerve. Researchers measured changes in shoulder strength, mobility, and muscle control to see if the treatment reduced pain and improved function.
