Needle or shock wave? study tests best fix for stubborn shoulder pain
NCT ID NCT06528756
Summary
This study compared two common procedures for treating chronic shoulder pain caused by calcium deposits in the tendons. 63 adults with pain lasting over 3 months were randomly assigned to receive either ultrasound-guided barbotage (a needle procedure to break up the deposit) or shock wave therapy. Researchers tracked their pain levels, shoulder function, and overall improvement over 6 months to see which treatment worked better.
