New nerve blocks target debilitating pain after lung surgery
NCT ID NCT07424638
Summary
This study aims to find the best way to prevent severe shoulder pain that often occurs after major chest surgery (thoracotomy) for lung cancer. Researchers will compare two different ultrasound-guided nerve block techniques, given alongside standard pain relief, in 75 patients. The goal is to see which method more effectively reduces this common and hard-to-treat pain to help patients recover more comfortably.
