New shoulder surgery technique could reduce hardware problems
NCT ID NCT07457931
First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study compares two methods of fixing a bone graft during shoulder instability surgery: traditional metal screws versus a newer suture tape technique. About 80 patients will be randomly assigned to one method and followed for a year to see which leads to better shoulder function and fewer complications. The goal is to find a safer way to stabilize the shoulder without the hardware issues sometimes seen with screws.
