Nerve block vs. sedation: new study tests better pain relief for popped shoulders
NCT ID NCT06034873
Summary
This study compared two methods for managing pain while doctors put a dislocated shoulder back in place. Researchers tested whether a targeted nerve-block injection works as well as traditional IV sedation for pain relief. The trial involved 42 adults with shoulder dislocations to see which method provided better comfort and shorter recovery times.
