Could six months beat a year? major trial challenges melanoma treatment standard
NCT ID NCT06488482
Summary
This large international study is testing whether a shorter, 6-month course of immunotherapy after surgery is just as effective as the current standard 12-month course for patients with high-risk melanoma. The goal is to see if the shorter treatment can prevent the cancer from returning just as well, while reducing side effects, hospital visits, and healthcare costs. Nearly 1,800 patients will be randomly assigned to receive either 6 or 12 months of treatment and followed for up to five years.
