Cutting treatment time in half: study tests faster light therapy for sun damage

NCT ID NCT07290959

Summary

This study tested whether a shorter, 1-hour session of indoor daylight therapy works as well as the standard 2-hour session for treating pre-cancerous sun spots (actinic keratosis) on the scalp. Researchers treated two symmetrical areas on the scalps of 55 patients over 50, using a special light-activated cream. The goal was to see if the shorter treatment was just as effective at clearing the spots and if it was better tolerated by patients.
