Brain stent trial seeks safer blood thinner timeline
NCT ID NCT06857045
Summary
This study aimed to find out if taking two blood-thinning medications for 3 months is as safe and effective as taking them for 6 months after getting a special drug-coated stent placed in a narrowed brain artery. It planned to enroll nearly 500 adults in China who had a stroke or warning signs due to this narrowing. The main goal was to compare the combined risk of stroke, death, or serious bleeding between the two treatment lengths one year after the procedure.
