Could 6 hours be enough? new trial aims to shorten bleeding treatment for new moms
NCT ID NCT04467996
First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at how long a balloon used to stop heavy bleeding after childbirth should stay in place. Researchers want to see if removing it after 6 hours works just as well as the usual 18 hours. The goal is to help mothers recover faster, spend less time in the hospital, and have less pain. The trial involves 64 women who had a vaginal delivery and needed this balloon treatment.
