Summary

This study looks at whether giving antiviral medicine for 4 months instead of the usual 6 months works just as well for babies born with a serious viral infection called congenital CMV. The infection can cause hearing loss and developmental delays. The trial will enroll 150 newborns and follow them for two years to compare brain development, hearing, and overall health between the two treatment lengths. The goal is to find a shorter, effective treatment that is easier for families.
