Can one day of antibiotics stop surgery infections?

NCT ID NCT07206992

Summary

This study aims to see if a 24-hour course of antibiotics before bladder or urinary tract surgery is as effective as the standard 48-hour course at preventing post-surgery infections. It will involve nearly 900 adult patients who have bacteria in their urine but no symptoms. The goal is to find the shortest effective treatment to reduce antibiotic use while keeping patients safe.
