First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests whether a 7-10 day course of a low-dose blood thinner (low-molecular-weight heparin) after childbirth can safely prevent blood clots in the legs or lungs. About 9,200 women at higher risk for clots will be randomly assigned to receive the blood thinner or no treatment. The study will track clot events, bleeding, and wound healing for 90 days after delivery.
