Short implants may spare jawbone grafting in new study
NCT ID NCT07162389
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study tests whether short dental implants (7mm) work as well as standard ones (11mm) for people with bone loss in the lower jaw. Ten adults missing back teeth will receive either implant type and have their stability checked weekly for a month using a painless device. The goal is to see if short implants can avoid the need for bone grafting while still healing properly.
