First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether a shorter, lower-dose course of benznidazole (30 days at 150 mg/day) works as well as the standard 60-day, higher-dose treatment for women with Chagas disease. The goal was to reduce the parasite level in the blood while causing fewer side effects. The trial involved 87 women in Argentina who had recently given birth and were not previously treated for the infection.
