First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This registry follows about 1,800 people with short bowel syndrome (SBS) to see how safe and effective the drug teduglutide is over the long term in everyday medical practice. It includes both patients who take teduglutide and those who do not. The main goal is to monitor for colorectal cancer and other serious side effects.

What this could lead to

If successful, this registry could provide a clearer picture of the long-term safety and effectiveness of teduglutide for managing short bowel syndrome.

What could go wrong

This is an observational registry, not a controlled trial, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Results may be influenced by differences in patient care or other factors.
