Shockwave showdown: new hope for heel pain sufferers?
NCT ID NCT07471035
First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests whether focused shockwave therapy (fESWT) plus exercise reduces pain and improves walking in people with chronic plantar fasciitis (heel pain lasting over 6 months). Twenty adults aged 18–70 will be randomly assigned to either fESWT plus exercise or a wait-list group that does only exercise at first. Researchers will measure pain, foot function, and changes in the thickness of the plantar fascia using ultrasound.
