New device aims to crack tough heart artery calcium

NCT ID NCT07407738

Summary

This study compares two medical devices that use sound waves to break up hardened calcium deposits in heart arteries. The procedure helps doctors place stents more effectively during artery-opening treatments. Researchers will enroll 120 patients with severe coronary artery calcification to see if the newer ShockFast device works as well as the established ShockWave device.
