Zapping heel pain: study tests shock waves vs. lasers

NCT ID NCT06846931

Summary

This study compared two non-invasive treatments for chronic heel pain from plantar fasciitis. Researchers tested whether low-intensity shock wave therapy or low-intensity laser therapy, when added to home exercises, worked better to reduce pain and improve foot function. The trial involved 90 adults with heel pain lasting at least three months, measuring their pain, foot function, and balance over 12 weeks.
