Shock waves join the fight against chronic shoulder pain
NCT ID NCT07390396
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a treatment called extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) to standard shoulder exercises works better than exercises alone for people with long-term rotator cuff tendon pain. Fifty adults with shoulder pain lasting over three months will be randomly assigned to receive either exercises plus weekly shock wave sessions or just exercises for six weeks. Researchers will measure changes in pain, shoulder function, and tendon thickness to see which approach helps more.
