Zapping muscle pain: can shock waves ease chronic back trouble?
NCT ID NCT06531746
Summary
This study tested whether adding a treatment called extracorporeal shock wave therapy to standard physical therapy helps people with lower cross syndrome, a condition causing muscle imbalance and pain in the lower back and hips. Forty adults with this condition were split into two groups: one received real shock wave therapy plus physical therapy, and the other received a fake (sham) shock wave treatment plus physical therapy. Researchers measured changes in pain levels and muscle activity to see if the shock waves made a difference.
