Shock waves could thaw frozen shoulders without surgery
NCT ID NCT06490172
First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This small pilot study will test if shock wave therapy can help people with chronic frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) who haven't gotten better with physical therapy. Researchers will treat 18 adults with a non-invasive device that sends sound waves to the shoulder, then measure pain, movement, and function. The goal is to see if a larger study is possible and whether this treatment can ease symptoms without drugs or surgery.
