Shock waves could thaw frozen shoulders
NCT ID NCT06490172
First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests if a non-invasive treatment called extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) can reduce pain and improve shoulder movement in people with chronic frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) who haven't gotten better with physical therapy. Researchers will first ask experts for the best treatment plan, then try it on 18 adults. The goal is to see if a larger study is possible and if ESWT helps with pain, function, and quality of life.
