Military study aims to zap Soldiers' heel pain with shock waves and blood injections

NCT ID NCT02668510

Summary

This study planned to test if adding a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection to standard shock wave therapy could better treat stubborn heel pain (plantar fasciitis) in active-duty soldiers. It was designed as a small pilot trial to see if the combined treatment was promising enough to justify a larger future study. The trial was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
