First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests three low doses of a drug called dexmedetomidine, given with spinal anesthesia, to see which best prevents shivering after surgery. About 120 adults having ureteric stone removal will be randomly assigned to receive one of three doses or a placebo. The goal is to find the safest and most effective dose to reduce shivering without causing side effects like drowsiness or slow heart rate.
